The Agricultural University of Athens has taken part in the 10th Anniversary Run at Marathon Lake

On Sunday, May 26 2024, the team of runners of the Agricultural University of Athens, “AUA Running Team”, participated in the 10th Anniversary Running Race at Marathon Lake. Οn the occasion of the World Environment Day, on June 5 2024, the team of runners “AUA Running Team”, in collaboration with the Environmental Management Office of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), the Volunteering Team of AUA, as well as the Career Services Office of AUA, have taken part by a numerous group of runners, inasmuch volunteers who had undertaken, in the first place, water distribution to the participating runners and subsequently, the cleaning action of the race route across the lakeside forest.

The Vice Rector for Research, Finance and Development, Mr. Thomas Bartzanas, Professor, has partaken in the race, as a runner, eliciting favourable comments by all the participants. Besides, the Vice Rector for European University, Internationalization and Student Affairs of the Agricultural University of Athens, Ms. Helen Miliou, Professor, has been supporting the participation of the team of runners of the Agricultural University of Athens, "AUA RUNNING Team", from the very first time she had been informed of its action. It is worth mentioning that the attendance of the Volunteering Team of AUA has been exemplary, which has indeed, been awarded for its considerable contribution.

The striking scenery images created by the beauty of the race route have enchanted all the partakers at the event. The Organisers have extended a warm welcome to the team of runners “AUA Running Team”, thus awarding honorary prizes to the AUA Team at the end of the Run, namely, a commemorative Diploma and a Cup, since it has formed the largest group participation. The team of runners of the University have paid warm compliments to the Organisers and the Association of Marathon Runners Telmissos. By that participation, the Agricultural University of Athens has honoured the World Environment Day, whilst also upholding regard for cleaning such a nearby natural landscape, within the Prefecture of Attica.
