Special Research Funds Account

Economic and Administerial Support Unit (EASU) of the Special Account for Research Funds (SARF)

The Economic and Administerial Support Unit (EASU) of the Special Account for Research Funds (SARF) of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), practices processes under the provision of a Joint Ministerial Decree (GR: ΚΥΑ/679/22-8-1996 (ΦΕΚ 826, τ. Β)), as in force.

The aim of SARF is the management and placing of Funds, of any external sources, as well as its own resources, intended for expense coverage, of any kind, necessary for the implementation of research, educational, training, and developmental projects as well as projects of continuing education and training, seminars and conferences.

The Funds also intend to cover the expenses of scientific, technological and artistic services, as well as conducting special and clinical trials, test running, measurements, lab testing and analysis, consultations, specification drafting for third parties, planning and implementation of scientific, research, cultural and developmental projects and other relative services, benefiting the University itself, as well as the coverage of operational costs of SARF and AUA (security, hygiene and equipment maintenance), concerning its own assets and those of AUA.

The Economic and Administerial Support Unit (EASU) of SARF of AUA is divided in the following departments (Finance and Management Guide of SARF AUA):

  1. Department of Administerial services
  2. Department of Economic services
  3. Department of project support, supply procurement, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

 

a) Department of Administerial services, responsibilities:

  1. Administerial processes of various kind such as filing, registration and computerization.
  2. Secretarial support of the Research and Management Committee.
  3. Implementing the decisions of the Research and Management Committee, and monitoring the procedures as provided in the Finance and Management Guide of SARF.
  4. Management of human resources and operational support of SARF via electronic government services
  5. Assuring the quality (ISO) of processes.

 

The department is divided in three (3) offices:

  1. Protocol, archive and computerization office
  2. Secretarial support of the Research and Management Committee office
  3. Human Resources and Quality Assurance office

b) Department of Economic services, responsibilities:

  1. Concern for issues of economic and accounting nature
  2. Organisation and reform of the total budget of SARF and the relative amendments, composition report of budget execution
  3. Inspection, clearance and payment of expenses

The department is divided in three (3) offices:

  1. Budget and Economic Management office
  2. Accounting and Payment Clearance office
  3. Treasury Management office

c) Department of project support, supply procurement, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring of projects and their economic activities in relevance to their physical objective.
  2. Management of information systems regarding project monitoring
  3. Supporting procedure execution of projects, of any kind, regarding processes of procurement (of goods and services), tender offers, and calls for expression of interest.
  4. Management of information systems regarding procurement processes
  5. Supporting actions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship by the Educational and Research activities of the University.

The department is divided in three (3) offices:

  1. Project Support and Management office
  2. Procurement and Calls for Natural Persons office
  3. Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Technology Transfer and Counseling office
