Public Relations, Communication & Events Department
The Public Relations, Communication and Events Department is a service unit of the Agricultural University of Athens and reports directly to the Rector or the competent Vice Rector. Its mission is to enhance the University’s visibility, promote its academic, research and social contribution, and support its communication with the academic community, public authorities, stakeholders and society at large.
Areas of Responsibility
The Department’s core areas of responsibility include:
- Managing the University’s public image and communication presence.
- Systematically promoting the academic, research and cultural work of the Institution.
- Supporting the organization of official ceremonies and institutional events.
- Overseeing the allocation and management of University spaces used for events.
Main Activities
The Public Relations, Communication and Events Department:
- Produces informational material, prepares press releases, organizes press conferences and disseminates content to the media and the University website.
- Promotes the University’s educational, scientific and research activities through media channels and official communication platforms.
- Develops collaborations and joint initiatives with public and private sector bodies to showcase and utilize the University’s expertise.
- Monitors and files press coverage related to the University and Higher Education, informing the University’s administration and relevant services.
- Manages the University’s central website, develops content, designs webpages and oversees web analytics reporting.
- Supervises the updating of content on the webpages of academic departments in both Greek and English, in collaboration with the International Relations and Mobility Office.
- Publishes news, announcements, events and resolutions on the University website.
- Manages the University’s social media accounts, producing digital content and monitoring performance indicators.
- Oversees the development of visual communication material (graphics, illustrations, logos, layouts and all visual assets).
- Designs and adapts communication materials for all digital and print channels.
- Organizes all official University events, including graduation ceremonies, honorary events, commemorations, award ceremonies, conferences, exhibitions and outreach activities, ensuring the proper hosting of official guests.
- Maintains administrative, photographic, audio and digital archives of all events.
- Designs and produces invitations, programs, posters, commemorative items and anniversary publications.
- Edits and supports the publication of the University’s official Magazine.
- Maintains and updates contact directories of internal and external stakeholders, including national and international Universities.
- Manages outgoing institutional communications and announcements to the University community.
- Oversees the maintenance and management of the University’s academic regalia collection.
- Supports the acquisition of sponsorships and donations for University events and activities.
- Coordinates with relevant services to ensure the availability, maintenance and proper functioning of event venues and equipment.
- Maintains the official archive of promotional events, conferences, seminars and exhibitions organized by or under the auspices of the University.
The Department plays a vital role in strengthening the identity, visibility and outreach of the Agricultural University of Athens, supporting communication, engagement and connection with society.
