Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.)

Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of Agricultural University of Athens (AUA)

The QAU of AUA is a permanent administrative structure of the institution, functionally independent from other organizational units, and is supervised by the Rector or the designated Vice Rector to whom the relevant responsibility has been assigned.

The mission of the QAU is to continuously enhance the quality of the institution’s educational and research activities, as well as the effectiveness and performance of its services, following international practices, particularly those of the European Higher Education Area, and the guidelines set by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).

The QAU is internally organized into:

a) The Quality Assurance Committee, and

b) The Quality Assurance Service.

The Quality Assurance Committee is chaired by the Vice Rector of Academic and Administrative Affairs, Lifelong Learning, and Outreach, Professor Emmanouil Flemetakis, as stipulated in Government Gazette 58/B/12.2023.

The Quality Assurance Committee was appointed by the University Senate (session 602/08.03.2023 and 622/27.12.2024).

The Quality Assurance Service operates as an independent administrative unit at the departmental level (Government Gazette 1350/B’/19.03.2025).

The operation of the QAU is defined by Article 215 of Law 4957/2022 and further detailed by its operational regulations, which were approved by the Senate on 10.10.2024.

In line with its mission, the QAU has developed and implemented an Internal Quality Assurance System, which has been certified by HAHE (formerly HQAA) for the period from 14-11-2019 to 13-11-2024.
