Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.)
Every University is responsible for the assurance and the continuous enhancement of the quality of its academic and research fields of activity, besides the effective functioning and performance of all the services offered, according to the international practices, especially those, within the scope of the European Higher Education Area, in addition to the principles and directives of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE). The competent coordinating agency for the fulfilment of this significant purpose, pertinent to each and every University roles and strategic objectives, is the Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.).
In the light of the above statements, the AUA Quality Assurance Unit responsibilities and tasks, as well as the formation of the organisational units, structuring and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Institution, are prescribed in the Official Government Gazette 1321/18.04.2018. The QA Unit was composed by the Senate Decision (no.550/04.02.2019), pursuant to the provisions of the article 14, of the Law 4009/2011, and the article 13 (2), (subparagraph I, second indent), as well as the article 83 (5), of the Law 4485/2017, as amended and in force.
Under this framework, AUA Quality Assurance Unit includes main duties, as follows:
- The development of a specific Policy and Strategy, as well as the establishment of all the necessary procedures for constant raising of the quality of the fields of activity and services, provided by the University, vital parts that the AUA Internal Quality Assurance System, actually consists of,
- Structuring, functioning, and perpetual refinement of the AUA Internal Quality Assurance System,
- Coordination and support of the evaluation processes of the Academic Units, Internal Evaluation Groups (OMEA) and other Institution Services,
- Providing assistance for the External Evaluation and Accreditation Processes of the Programmes of Studies, and the Internal Quality Assurance System of the University, in alignment with the Standards, the Directives and Guidelines, of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
Accreditation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS)
The Agricultural University of Athens, in the framework of the accreditation process, which was performed under the coordination and responsibility of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), the former Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQA), was certified accreditation, that falls within the overall scope of the Internal Quality Assurance of the educational, research and the administrative functioning of the University, as a whole, having a four year validity, namely from 14.11.2019, up to 13.11.2024.
