Date:
Thursday 12 Mar 2026

On February 25, 2026, the Plant Breeding and Agricultural Experimentation Laboratory welcomed Dr. Luseko Amos Chilagane, Lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro, Tanzania, as part of the Erasmus+ International Mobility Program and the bilateral collaboration between the two universities.

Dr. Chilagane delivered a lecture entitled “Framework for Variety Development, Registration, Protection and Seed Certification in Tanzania”, providing valuable insights into variety development and seed certification, and significantly contributing to the academic collaboration and international outreach of our institution.

Following the lecture, Erasmus+ students presented their home countries and shared their experiences participating in the mobility program. Specifically, Anitha Lamson Mwambuga spoke about Tanzania, Nadjemin Djeneba Silue about Côte d’Ivoire, and Mohamed Lamsiah about Morocco, giving attendees a brief “journey” through three different cultures.

This initiative, held for the first time within the program, strengthened intercultural dialogue and the exchange of experiences. The Laboratory warmly thanks Dr. Chilagane for his visit and the students for their preparation and active participation, looking forward to new international collaborations and initiatives.
