The Agricultural University of Athens Signs Cooperation Protocol with the Academy of Athens

A cooperation protocol between the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and the Academy of Athens was signed on Monday, 10 November 2025. The protocol was co-signed by the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Professor Spyridon Kintzios, the President of the Academy of Athens, Emeritus Professor Michail Tiverios, and the Secretary General of the Academy, Emeritus Professor Christos Zerefos.

The main objectives of this collaboration are to provide educational activities in the fields of agricultural sciences, to strengthen research initiatives in the agricultural sector, and to highlight the contribution of both institutions to the development of local communities in the agri-food sector at both national and European levels.

In particular, the Cooperation Protocol focuses on the following actions:
• Promoting exchanges of academic, research, and other personnel, as well as postgraduate students, to participate in teaching and/or research activities.
•Organizing symposia, conferences, and lectures on research topics.
•Submitting and implementing joint research programs.
•Conducting Diploma, Master’s, and Doctoral theses with the support of both parties.
•Organizing and supporting pilot co-teaching of selected undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The coordination of this collaboration has been assigned to Assistant Professor Leonidas Mindrinos of the Department of Natural Resources Development and Agricultural Engineering for AUA, and to Researcher Konstantinos Kalimeris of the Mathematics Research Center of the Academy of Athens.
