The Information Day of the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance for Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability was held with great success and substantial student participation on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at the Agricultural University of Athens. The event commenced with opening remarks by the Vice Rector for the European University, Internationalization and Student Welfare, Professor Eleni Miliou, who extended a warm welcome to the audience and underscored the significance of sustained student engagement in the activities of the Alliance.

Subsequently, Vera Charitou, EU-CONEXUS Institutional Coordinator, and Olga Dandali, EU-CONEXUS Student Affairs Officer, delivered detailed presentations on the interdisciplinary and flexible academic offerings of the Alliance. These included the Minor Programmes and Micro-credential pathways, which enhance the international academic profile of the participating institutions. The speakers also elaborated on the wide range of mobility opportunities, available scholarships and grants, funding instruments supporting student-led projects, and initiatives promoting creativity, innovation and research—such as innovation competitions, the Student Research Hub, and the Open Lab Hours. Furthermore, they highlighted the cultural and artistic activities of EU-CONEXUS, as well as international internship and employment opportunities that substantially advance students’ professional development. The presentations stimulated considerable interest and prompted active participation from the students during the ensuing discussion.

The programme continued with an address by Christina Zantioti, EU-CONEXUS Student Engagement Officer, who presented IamStudent: Roadmap for Inter-Campus Student Life. Her presentation illuminated the initiatives aimed at strengthening the EU-CONEXUS Student Identity and fostering meaningful student involvement in shared European activities.

The event concluded with testimonies from students who had previously participated in EU-CONEXUS programmes and shared their experiences, offering examples of personal growth, international networking and memorable moments that underscored the significant impact of the Alliance on their academic journey. In particular, students Eleftheria Garoufali (Department of Crop Science), Panagiota Mallouchou (Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition) and Vasilis Sapounas (Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition) articulated the academic, professional and personal benefits they derived from their participation, thereby attesting to the transformative impact of the Alliance on their educational trajectory.
