Educational Visit to the Athens Stock Exchange by the Department of Agribusiness and Supply Chain Management of the Agricultural University of Athens
As part of the educational and scientific activities of the Academic Laboratory “Business ICT in Value Chains” of the Department of Agribusiness and Supply Chain Management, School of Applied Economics and Social Sciences of the Agricultural University of Athens, an educational visit was held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the premises of the Athens Stock Exchange, with the participation of 35 students.
The student delegation was accompanied by the Head of the Laboratory, Professor Damianos Sakas, Associate Professor Kanellos Tountas, and Assistant Professor Ioannis Chasiotis. The group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Emmanouil Skarmeas, Director of Market Operation and Supervision at ATHEX Group, along with other executives of the Group.
During the event, students attended:
- A lecture on compliance with the principles and best practices of Corporate Governance, according to international standards.
- A presentation on the real-time online trading process of shares at the Athens Stock Exchange.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Exchange’s facilities and the distribution of commemorative gifts to the students.
This initiative is part of the broader educational strategy of the Laboratory and the Department, aiming to bridge academic learning with the real economy. Similar activities are planned to continue, further enhancing students’ exposure to the financial and business sectors.
