Once again, the participation of the Agricultural University of Athens in the 15th National ECOTROPHELIA Competition was crowned with success.

The purpose of the competition, organized by the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries, is to provide students engaged in food science with the opportunity to showcase their innovative spirit and creativity.
This year, 14 teams of undergraduate and postgraduate students from 7 universities across the country reached the final phase.
The new products were presented on Wednesday, June 18 2025, in Athens to representatives of the academic community, the business sector, and a wide audience of interested parties.
The Second Prize for the product "PANACEA", as well as the Best Presentation Award for the product "NOSTOS", were awarded to the two teams representing the Agricultural University of Athens.
The AUA teams were supervised by Professor Panagiotis N. Skandamis as the Scientific Coordinator and Dr. Marianna Arvaniti, a postdoctoral researcher, as the academic advisor. Members of the team that developed the product “PANACEA” were the undergraduate students of AUA Vasiliki Eleftheriou-Boli, Vasiliki Louli, Athanasios Petritziklis, Vasileios Sapounas (team leader), and Angelos Temponeras. Members of the team that developed the product “NOSTOS” were the undergraduate students of AUA Stefania Antonioudaki, Anna Vidali (team leader), Christina Vlachou, Georgios Georgopoulos, Nikolaos Kontizas, and Konstantinos Papakonstantinou. Additionally, Marianna Giannakoulia, a postgraduate student of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, participated in both teams.
