Final event of the Project "Blue Career Centre for Aquaculture Education supported by a gamification approach and distance learning platform (BlueAquaEdu)"

On Monday, December 8, the final event of the Project "Blue Career Centre for Aquaculture Education supported by a gamification approach and distance learning platform (BlueAquaEdu)", dedicated to the future of professions related to aquaculture, was held at the Library Auditorium of the Agricultural University of Athens.

The BlueAquaEdu project is implemented under EMFAF-2023-BlueCareers, co-financed by the European Union under the agreement number 101124699 and aims to enhance blue skills in aquaculture. The BlueAquaEdu project promotes the connection between education and industry, enhancing the skills needed to create careers in the aquaculture sector.

                The Vice-Rector of the European University, Internationalization and Student Affairs, Ms. Eleni Miliou, Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens and coordinator of the BlueAquaEdu Project, delivered a welcome speech and presented the goals and purpose of the project.

During the Conference, University lecturers as well as aquaculture professionals from Greece, Portugal and France presented the main achievements of the project. These include the development of the interactive training platform and the innovative educational game on aquaculture. At the same time, they informed the attending students about the modern professional prospects and employment opportunities in the dynamically developing aquaculture sector.

The conference concluded with an open discussion, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with field experts, exchange views, and experience the project’s educational game interaction.

The event highlighted the importance of innovative education and the interconnection of academic knowledge with the labor market, substantially contributing to informing and raising awareness of the new generation about the future of aquaculture.
