Double participation of the Agricultural University of Athens at the Local Authorities Ceremony Awards 2023

On Wednesday, September 20 2023, an event was held about the Ceremony for “Τhe Local Authorities Awards 2019-2023” at the Peristyle of the Zappeion Megaron Hall. The particular awards are exclusively addressed to the First and Second-Grade Local Authorities, highlighting and rewarding actions and projects about Innovation, Sustainability, the Life Quality of Cities, inasmuch the Services to the Citizen, during the four-year period. These awards illustrate the innovative solutions, the works and actions of the Municipalities and Regions having been distinguished, setting an inspiring example that is worth following by others, thus contributing to the improvement of the services provided towards the citizens.

The Agricultural University of Athens has made a contribution to the pursuit of the objectives set by that institution, in the first place by the participation of the Rector, Mr Sryridon Kintzios, Professor, at the Review Panel, in addition to the awarding of prizes of the category entitled: “6Β.1 Green – Actions pertaining to the total of works, actions, interventions & innovations, with a view to protecting and upgrading the natural environment, (green hubs, pocket parks, plantation actions, preservation and refinement of the urban green spaces”, as well as the category named: “6Β.2 Projects and Innovations about the sustainable and environmentally friendly  buildings” and in the second place, by awarding, in the capacity of the President of the Management Body, namely that of the Assistant Professor, Ms. Sophie Mavrikou, about the Environmental Awareness Metropolitan Park “Antonis Tritsis” of the category entitled: “3Α.3 Bioclimatic Regeneration Works”.
