The implementation of the specific project shall lead to changing the perspective and functionalism of the surrounding area of the Institution and thereby resulting in the general urban space renovation. The gentrification project will contribute to the aesthetic feel and functional upgrade of the natural and built environment, besides the improvement in the life quality of the academic community and that of citizens in the greater region.
The project is based on the new approaches for the sustainable development of infrastructure, taking into consideration the urgency for Sustainable Infrastructure, within the New Climate Economy framework, regarding investment in green infrastructure as the “key” for overcoming the three central challenges, which the global community has been facing, namely, development repetition, achievement of sustainable development goals and reduction of the risk to climate.
