The Agricultural University of Athens heads to Greek universities at the International Forum "GREECE IN 2040"
On Wednesday, January 27, the presentation of the 14 institutions that will participate in the Forum "Greece in 2040", organized by the Commission "Greece 2021" and will be presented next October at the Zappeion Palace, took place before the Prime Minister, aiming to map the potential and prospects of Greece in twenty years.
Responding to the invitation of the Committee "Greece 2021", the General Assembly of the Rectors of Greek Universities, as one of the institutional bodies, appointed the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Professor Mr. Spyridon Kintzios as head of the working group which will present a study on the development of Higher Education over the next two decades based on both the current challenges and the pivotal role of the Public University in the rapidly evolving societies of high knowledge intensity. In this context, strategic issues that will concern us, among others, are the following:
- The evolution of the Greek University in the process of European integration, especially through the institution of European Universities.
- The role of Universities as Regional Development agencies.
- The participation of the Universities in research and innovation and the necessary institutional interventions.
- The new cognitive objects that will emerge in the future.
- The transition to the digital age.
This choice is a special honor for the Agricultural University, which entered its second century of operation. In addition to the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, as coordinator, the working group includes:
