The "Trophy – Τροφή Challenge" competition for innovative ideas and companies that want "a new perspective" in the areas of food technology and agricultural technology, has just began.

The agri-food sector is now called upon, more than ever by the COVID-19 pandemic, to come up with viable solutions that guarantee the food security of the population, integrate innovative solutions into the supply chain and reduce the environmental footprint.

In the midst of the current crisis, the competition will feature teams that use new technologies to develop products, services and innovative solutions that align with modern agri-food challenges.

The "Trophy – Τροφή Challenge" competition is implemented by the program "New Agriculture for a New Generation", under the leadership of Rutgers University, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens and the American School of Agriculture and with the support of Industry Disruptors Game Changers (ID -GC). Major donor of program "New Agriculture for a New Generation" and the "Trophy - Τροφή Challenge" is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The winning teams, in addition to the cash prizes (total of €22,000), will gain opportunities for international networking and personalized support in all aspects of their business activity.

Applications are submitted electronically at https://trophychallenge.gr/ until  May 29th. Proposals will be reviewed first for their eligibility and then evaluated for the innovation, sustainability and applicability of their business plan by a special evaluation committee.

The Agricultural University of Athens, as one of the strategic partners of the "New Agriculture for a New Generation" Program, supports the implementation of the project both strategically and operationally, through our long-term experience in the agri-food sector.
