Visit of students of the Agricultural University of Athens at Universidad Católica de Valencia in Spain.

In the framework of the Aquaculture Minor course, by means of the Hyper-University EU-CONEXUS, four (4) students of the Agricultural Univeristy of Athens had the chance of travelling to Spain from 2 to 6 May, 2022. The students coming from the Departments of Biotechnology, Food Science and Human Nutrition and Agricultural Economics and Rural Development respectively, have fulfilled the Minor course Aquaculture, with physical presence for a week at Universidad Católica de Valencia.

The Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr. Spyridon Kintzios, Professor, congratulated the students who are taking important steps forward, by their participation into that course, in order to become the future factors of change upon Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability across European countries.

Throughout their stay in Spain, the students attended lectures by EU-CONEXUS Professors and executives of the company AVRAMAR, the largest company producing Mediterranean fish. They also made a visit to the particular company and were guided to the farmed fish facilities, watched the feeding of the farmed fish, as well as the cleaning of the cages by divers.

Besides, the students visited Calpe at IMEDMAR Marine Station and in cooperation with Spanish students, they took samples from the seabed and performed analyses on algae and plankton at the laboratories of the University of Valencia.

All the above actions of the Agricultural University of Athens in collaboration with the partners of the Program EU - CONEXUS, highlight the systematic support of students, as they come closer to opportunities for internationalization and participate actively into a number of cultural and educational activities on a European level.
