Interactive participation of the Agricultural University of Athens in the Exhibition of French Universities, opening new horizons for establishing academic collaborations.

The Agricultural University of Athens has taken part in the Exhibition for Studies in France organized by the French Educational Institution, wherein a substantial number of French Higher Education Institutions, Technical Universities, Business Schools and Specialized Schools and Institutes have participated. The Exhibition was held with physical presence on Saturday, February 10 2024, at the French Educational Institution headquartered in Athens, while it took place on Sunday, February 11 2024, at the French Educational Institution in Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the French Embassy in Greece and CAMPUS FRANCE. That Study France Education Exhibition has met with success, strengthening Greek - French cooperation, featuring in particular the opportunities for joint postgraduate studies, scholarships and mobility, too.

Along these lines, the Β2Β meetings scheduled for Friday, February 9 2024, at the French Educational Institution among the representatives of Greek and French Universities have been of great interest, attended specifically by the Vice Rector for Internationalization, European University and Student Affairs of the Agricultural University of Athens, Ms. Helen Miliou, Professor, Ms. Sophie Mavrikou, Assistant Professor, along with Ms. Rania Hindiridou, Administrative Staff of the   Department of International and Public Relations, who has been in charge of the organization and coordination of the AUA presentation in that Exhibition, while at the same time offering the French delegates both the printed and digital promotional foreign language material, as well as AUA mementos. The Vice Rector, Ms. Miliou, has referred to the Joint International Master Programme Erasmus Μundus, entitled: “Marine Biotechnology”, highlighting the participation of the Agricultural University of Athens amongst the six (6) European Universities in this Joint Master Programme, including La Rochelle Université in France between these Universities.

Subsequently, the Vice Rector, Ms. Miliou, has presented the counterparts of France the options students have throughout their academic career, after the completion of their studies at the Agricultural University of Athens, thus giving prominence to the significant role played by the University onto the Academic Map on a national, inasmuch a global level. In addition, Ms. Sophie Mavrikou, Assistant Professor has emphasized the part of the Agricultural University of Athens, being an important Partner of the European University concerning Smart Urban Coastal Zone Sustainability EU-CONEXUS, having the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr. Spyridon Kintzios, Professor, as the Scientific Coordinator, thereby aiming not only at fostering closer international relations, but also at empowering intercultural communication amongst the nine (9) European Universities, which participate in the European Alliance EU-CONEXUS, wherein La Rochelle Université in France acts as the Coordinating Institution.

In the context of the official ceremony held for the Exhibition of French Universities, on Friday afternoon, February 9 2024, the Ambassador of the State of France in Greece, Her Majesty, Ms. Laurence Auer, has hosted a reception, with a large number of people invited, such as the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Rectorate Authorities of the Greek Universities and of course, delegates from various French Institutions. On top of that, the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens has conducted a hearty conversation και discussion with the Ambassador, regarding the fruitful and constructive ties that the Agricultural University of Athens has been maintaining with France, since considerable Greek-France Academic Collaborations have been concluded for a lengthy period of time, which have been functioning perfectly over time. Furthermore, the Vice Rector for Internationalization, European University and Student Affairs of the Agricultural University of Athens, Ms. Helen Miliou, Professor, has honoured the reception, accompanied by Ms. Rania Hindiridou, Administrative Officer of the International and Public Relations Department, who has taken care of the preparation of the symbolic gifts with the University Emblem and History, offered by the AUA Rector to the Ambassador of France in Greece, Her Majesty, Ms. Laurence Auer.

Besides, the AUA Rector has had the chance of holding a dialogue, in a spirit of a keen and mutual interest in Agricultural Issues with the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis, as well as with the Rectors and Vice Rectors of the Greek Universities, namely the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Gerasimos Siasos, Professor, the Rector of Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, Ms. Christina Koulouri, Professor and the Rector of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Mr. Nikolaos Katsarakis, Professor.
