Awarding of the Aristotle Prize to the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens during the 31st Detrop Helexpo.

 

           On Saturday, February 18 2023, a special ceremony took place at 16.00 pm on awarding the international excellence prizes in the sector of Food and Beverage 2023 (Food Experts’ Awards - FEA) at the International Exhibition and Congress Centre in Thessaloniki. The Aristotle prize 2023 was awarded to the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr Sryridon Kintzios, Professor, as a recognition of the contribution of the Institution over the years in the area of agrifood on a national and global level.

In the framework of the 31st Detrop HELEXPO, the greek website of food experts https://cibum.gr/ had organised the awarding of the international prizes in the sector of Food and Beverage. The specific webpage has been designed and functioning as an initiative of people  who are fond of the science of food, with a view to providing information, as well as achieving progress, networking and collaboration amongst people wishing to offer in that field. It constitutes a free access platform aiming at informing the greek food industry about all the issues pertaining to science, entrepreneurship, legislation of foods and society at large, without any restrictions and subscriptions.

 

As far as the procedure related to the prizes awarding is concerned, independent professionals – experts belonging to the food sector have evaluated the candidacies submitted and nominated the winners of FEA 2023, with the aim of encouraging, inasmuch rewarding for the hard and innovative work attained in the food sector and that sector – related enterprises.

At the ceremony held, more than 150 representatives of greek enterprises of the food sector gave their presence, in addition to giving 81 awards to undertakings with considerable work accomplished in innovation and contribution to greek industry. Among the 25 competitive prize categories, an honorary award was bestowed upon Mr Antonios Zambelas, Professor of the Agricultural University of Athens and President of the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET), in the name of the Antoine LAVOISIER prize 2023.
