The Agricultural University of Athens Participates in the 42nd Athens Authentic Marathon with the “AUA Running Team”.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025, the 42nd Athens Authentic Marathon and the parallel races of its official programme took place. In this historic sporting event, the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) participated with a large running team in all race categories (Authentic Marathon – 42 km, OPAP Road Race – 10 km, and Universities Night Run – 5 km).

The Athens Authentic Marathon is a unique event of great athletic and cultural significance for Greece, inspiring thousands of runners from around the world to follow the legendary route of the ancient messenger who brought the news of victory to Athens 2,500 years ago. The AUA community once again marked a strong presence, honoring this important international event.

A particularly noteworthy achievement for the AUA Running Team, the official running team of the Agricultural University of Athens, was winning 2nd place for the largest university participation in the 5 km UNIVERSITIES NIGHT RUN OPAP, bringing together the highest number of student and academic community participants. The award was presented on Saturday evening, 8 November 2025, to the Vice Rector for European University Affairs, Internationalization and Student Welfare, Professor Eleni Miliou, during a special ceremony held at the Panathenaic Stadium immediately after the completion of the night run.

The consistently strong participation and the distinctions achieved constitute an honorable recognition for the Agricultural University of Athens, highlighting the cohesion, active engagement, team spirit, and outward-looking character of the University community—values fully aligned with the principles of fair play, supported through a holistic approach and a commitment to Lifelong Healthy Living Choices.

The AUA Running Team will continue its activities and invites all members of the University community to take part in upcoming initiatives.
