Participation of the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Prof. S. Kintzios, in the Conference on "The Internationalization of Greek Universities" at the Parliament.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, a conference on "The Internationalization of Greek Universities" was organized by the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament, at the Senate Hall of the Hellenic Parliament.
The conference was attended by the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Professor Spyridon Kintzios, and the Vice-Rector of the European University, Internationalization & Student Affairs, Professor Eleni Miliou.
At the beginning of the event, greetings were delivered by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas, the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs, Prof. Christodoulos Stefanadis.
Presentations were made by the President of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education, Professor Pericles Mitkas, and the leadership of all the universities in the country (Rectors and/or Vice-Rectors).
The conference was also attended by the Secretary General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Prof. Nikolaos Papaioannou.
According to what the University Rectors said, the extroversion agenda of public Higher Education Institutions includes collaborations with leading Universities in Europe, Asia and America, postgraduate programs, hosting programs for American students for a semester at universities in the country and road shows of Greek Universities in the Balkans.
In particular, the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens analyzed the University's internationalization strategy. He also referred to the collaborations of the Agricultural University of Athens with 33 Universities abroad and to EU-CONEXUS, a strong alliance of 9 European Universities in which the Agricultural University of Athens also participates.
This meeting was also attended by members of Parliament from all Parliamentary groups.
