Meeting of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece with the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens

A meeting of pivotal importance was held on Thursday December 9 2021, between the Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens, Professor Spyridon Kintzios and the delegation of the Steering Committee (SC) of the Branch of Eastern Central Greece of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece.

The meeting took place upon the mutual request of both parties, aiming at the exchange of points of view and the exploration of ways to secure the profession of Agronomist, forestry Expert and the geotechnical field in general, especially after the large number of graduates, who will be graduating in a few years from the former Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) of geotechnical direction, hereinafter referred to as University Departments.

Throughout the meeting, it was found that there has been a substantial consensus between both parts regarding the steps and measures that should be proposed and  adopted  about the safeguard of the geotechnical profession, as much as the increase in the absorption of graduates, under the framework of organizing an effective agricultural policy and other sectors of economy.
