The Agricultural University of Athens is now represented at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation of Technology and Research

A seven-member International Evaluation Committee appointed by the Ministry of Development and Investment elected the new Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation of Technology and Research (IMBB-FORTH), Professor of Agricultural Pharmacology Mr. Ioannis Vontas.

This election is a great achievement for the Agricultural University of Athens, as the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation of Technology and Research is one of the most significant and particularly important research institutes at European level. This distinction will contribute to even closer cooperation between the Agricultural University of Athens and the Institute.

It is also mentioned that the inspirer and founder of this institute was the late Professor Fotis Kafatos .
