Due to the 3rd of December, International Day of Disabled Persons, the Career Center of the Agricultural University of Athens, would like to inform you that the last four (4) years supports students   belonging  to the vulnerable groups. Students belonging to the vulnerable population are people with disabilities, people with special educational needs and students with financial problems, immigrants, students with mental disorders, etc.

The purpose of the University  is to provide equal education, opportunities and accessibility to its students, with the ultimate goal of educational and social integration in the University Community and therefore their graduation.

Thus, the Career Center of the Agricultural University of Athens provides:

  • Individual counselling, to students with disabilities, or / and  group seminars of special education and training, with emphasis on their individual method of study and the treatment of special learning difficulties.
  • Psychological support through individual and group seminars on topics that concern students and affect their studies such as: stress, difficulties in adapting to the environment or studies, problems with relationships with family, friends and / or the academic environment, isolation , addictions, and other personal difficulties that lead to psychosomatic problems, etc.
  • Accompaniment of disabled students.
  • Financial support - scholarships to students who are financially weak, in order to encourage them to continue their studies and to be focused on them, in order to complete their obligations, on time.
  • Enhancing University’s physical accessibility though infrastructures. In order to increase the rate of early graduation and enhance the equal participation of students with disabilities, the accessibility of the University is improved, both in Athens and in the branches of the Region.
  • Existence of two (2) special workstations for students with mobility problems and with vision and hearing problems in the AUA Library
  • Fifteen (15) books of the University, which have been specially processed, so that they are accessible to students with complete or partial blindness and with difficulties in reading.
