Call for Applications: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programme "Marine Biotechnology" by the Agricultural University of Athens
The Agricultural University of Athens and the European University for Smart Sustainable Urban Coastal Zone Management (EU-CONEXUS) invite students to apply for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree Programme, titled Marine Biotechnology, for the academic year 2024-2025.
The purpose of this Joint Master Programme is to provide high-quality education, enabling graduates to acquire a strong scientific background and expertise in specific areas such as:
- Innovative Bioproducts for the Future
- Blue Biomass
- Marine Biorefineries
- Aquaculture Biotechnology
These areas are directly related to the field of Marine Biotechnology and are integral to the framework of this Joint Master Programme.
The participating postgraduate students, upon completing their studies, will have the opportunity to address global challenges and develop professional skills through the use of modern educational methods. Additionally, the development of an interdisciplinary knowledge and skillset will ensure their flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to rapid advancements in science, technology, and the business environment. With this structure, and in response to the real needs of the Marine Biotechnology sector, the Joint Master Programme aims to emphasize the cooperation and synergy between the collaborating European universities, industry, and research institutes.
The six (6) European universities participating in the Joint Master Programme are:
- University of La Rochelle, France
- Agricultural University of Athens, Greece
- Catholic University of Valencia, Spain
- University of Klaipeda, Lithuania
- Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Romania
- University of Zadar, Croatia.
The duration of the Joint Master Programme is two (2) full calendar years, comprising 120 ECTS, and the courses are delivered in English. The programme will start in September 2025.
The tuition fees for the Joint Master Programme are €5,000 for European citizens and €9,000 for non-European citizens. Additionally, there is the possibility of an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, with a monthly amount of up to €1,400.
It is also worth mentioning that the Joint Master Programme includes diverse potential mobility programmes, thus providing students with the opportunity for international exchange of experiences, in addition to gaining cross-cultural experience and developing social skills.
