Title:  Specific reading difficulties and memory functions, with emphasis on short-term memory (STM).

Summary

The interactive micro-group laboratory aims to present the Specific reading difficulties regarding the memory functions. At a theoretical level, short-term memory (STM) will be discussed, given that memory is a single system consisting of different structures known as a two-dimensional or functional model of memory. The short-term memory impairment is considered a key parameter in the detection of specific reading difficulties because STM is involved in retaining small amounts of information for short periods of time. On a practical level we will work with reading comprehension exercises focusing on the distinction of sensory memory from that of short-term memory. The specific reading difficulties will be discussed with emphasis on the empirical documentation and the memory functions in texts which students studied with the direct teaching, physical presence and texts by distance using the new technologies.
