Dear students,

Good autumn!

If you have difficulty to study,

         If you owe enough lessons,

If you have difficulty remembering what you are reading,

If you are worried about how you will do with the exams,

Come to the Small Group Interactive Laboratory of Mnemonic Techniques " which organized by: The AUA Career Office

Date: Tuesday 29 September 2020

The seminar can be attended by students of the Agricultural University of Athens and also them who study in the departments of the former TEI of Central Greece.

Title: Memory functions and efficient study at the University with emphasis on coding.

Summary

The interactive micro-group laboratory aims to present the basic memory functions (Roussos, 2011, p.205-210) regarding the efficient study at the University. At a theoretical level, the coding and the way in which the information is represented after the decoding will be discussed. The information is encoded in memory in some form or representation code. It is distinguished in phonological, visual and functional coding. The storage capacity of working memory is limited and is defined by the formula "7 + -2 elements", Ebbinghaus, Herman (1885), Miller, G (1956). On a practical level we will work with exercises of awareness of the memory functions such as that of sensory memory regarding the visual and auditory perception and their utilization in the efficiency of the study. We will also try to decode during the reading process the individual way in which the student studies and registers the new knowledge in the mnemonic system.
