Actions for a sustainable production and exploitation of legumes in animal farming systems.

The workshop is organized by the Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Crop Science. During the workshop, the research project "Legumes" co-financed by the European Union and Greece will be introduced. Issues related to the use of legumes in the feeding of livestock animals, their genetic improvement to reduce anti-nutritional factors, and the cost-effectiveness of their use in livestock farms will be discussed. A round-table discussion will address several issues such as the prospects and problems of legume cultivation in Greece.
